Ashley Wilburn, a top-ranked law school graduate, opens an office for family law in her home town.

THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal practice is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She focuses the majority of her practice in divorce cases, alimony disputes divorce property distribution child custody battles child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues, step-parent and private party adoptions, as well as issues involving children's welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning matters, including probate, wills, trusts, and estate administration, in addition to commercial contract, civil litigation cases. Ashley has been a mediator appointed by the court since the year. She assists parties in resolving their disputes without the need for litigation or court involvement. Ashley mediates private cases as well as court-appointed mediation for those who wish to avoid litigation and court processes.

After finishing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she received two bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was placed among the top 10 students of her class. Ashley was a Note Editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This demonstrated her commitment to scholarship and research in the field of law.

Following the completion of her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship journey, working for prominent jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate to work as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. Subsequently, in 2014, she returned to her hometown of Hagerstown to work as a clerk for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. As an associate attorney. Her main focus at the firm was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters pertaining to child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work played a significant role in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at care of their parents or caregivers. Her dedication to social justice went beyond her legal practice and she was active as an officer of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force and worked tirelessly to raise awareness about human trafficking in the tristate area.

In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law such as divorce, custody, child support and guardianships - aswell as estate planning, wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies - and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. She has a the goal of providing a personalized approach to every client's requirements.
